~Bags and bottles~

Since being "eco-friendly" is now easy, let's look at some simple ways we can be eco-friendly while doing your everyday errands.

Here's 2 more simple habits you just might like to pick up. ;)

1. Buy a reusable water bottle
This is the easier task. Just pick up a reusable water bottle at Walmart, Albertsons or Kroger. Or if you are the more "artsy" type, you can pick one up at Starbucks! :) Also, take a few minutes to watch
this video. [It changed my view on Water Bottles!]

2. Use reusable shopping bags
At your local grocery store you can buy reusable shopping bags for as cheap as $0.99-$1.50. Once you've got a few of these handy bags, stick them in your purse or car so that you can easily grab them as your on your way to the store.

These are two simple ways you can be eco-friendly and save tons of trash while doing you daily errands!

Enjoy your new fun bags and bottles! :)

As easy as 1-2-3!

Many people ask me "Is being eco friendly...easy?" I've pondered over this question for sometime now and for me it's as easy as 1, 2, 3. But for the normal "Busier" type person who throw their reusable's away and may not entertain the thought of, "taking care of the earth", the principle might be a bit harder to establish in their everyday life. I often try to explain that your efforts will pay off, and being eco-friendly IS worth it!

Now that we've established that fact, lets see how we can {easily} be eco-friendly when we are out-and-about! :)

-When you wash your hands (In a local bathroom) use 1 Hand Towel. You know, the things we hastily grab to "Dry our hands"? I don't know about you, but normally I grab about 3-5 of them after I finish washing my hands, thinking: "I'll need this much!" But really...I'm NOT thinking all that much...because if you THINK about it, you really only need one! So I urge you, just try ONE...and see if that suffices. [I guarantee you, it will.] Not only will it meet your needs, you will also be reducing trash!

And here is another tip!

- When buying ice cream, get a cone and not a cup. This is just a little summer tip. So many times you'll be heading up to the ice cream store (especially if you live in Texas and have an urge to feed your sweet tooth!) and you have a choice: To pick a cup or a cone. Know that if you buy a cone you will be decreasing the amount of trash you use!

Walah! Your well on your way to being eco-friendly!

Together, lets {easily} be eco-friendly and reduce trash!

Long time, no blog post...

I am aware that it would seem as though I have neglected this blog, and my faithful followers. (Yes, that would be you.) ;)

My deepest apologies for my inconsideration.

Since my mind has been off in "Debate land" thinking about the joys of being eco-friendly is quite a pleasant adjustment.

As I have had some time to get my mind out of the ordinary "...ANWR, CWA, CWRA, CAA, ESA, SWRF, SF, CWSRF..." (Yes, that is debate gibberish.) I have been reviewing in my mind future goals, and where I currently stand when it comes to helping the environment.

Well, here is goes...

I have realized (I am sure you have also) that often, environmentalist have become senseless when it comes to taking care of our beautiful environment. And have proposed that simply our existence is "Harmful for the Environment"...I am quite frankly stunned at this statement. That men and woman alike would doubt the fact that our magnificent Creator put us here for a significant reason, for this significant time, is incredibly mindless.

When humans carelessly put the environment in first class and our Heavenly Father in coach...that my friends, is where I draw the line.

Being good stewards of the environment (the space around us) is of the upmost importance to me...as you have most likely already conceived. :) And I pray through this short life I am blessed to live, I will provide hope for those willing to serve their Father in all that they do, specifically in the arena of the environment.

I hope each of you are blessed and encouraged each time you read my blog posts.

Love always ~

- Your faithful (or rather, unfaithful of late) blogger. :)

Say goodbye to sugary times...

For 2010 I decided to start a new way of eating. My diet normally consists of vegetables, fruits, wheat and....yes...chocolate.

If there is one thing that I would change about me is the fact that I am a fanatic about eating anything that pertains to SUGAR!!!

But, the very lucky thing for me, is that: this reality can be changed! For 2010 I am going to change my great devotion, my cravings for sugar, my love for a delicacy that looks so good and tastes SO good...but does NO good to your body.

So, I had a solution! I decided not to eat sugars, or anything "sugary" at ALL for the whole month of January!

To be completely honest, it is one of the hardest things I've done this year. ;) But, I think I will get through. I will tell you as soon as it's over how it went, and if I saw a little or big deal of improvement.

If you wish to join in with me, than I would want nothing more. :)

Now go and enjoy that sugar!!!...(that I can't have!!)

It's a New Year!

As this New Year unfolds in front of us, we start making resolutions, we create idea's on how to make the upcoming year a more pleasing one.

Many make resolutions on how they can improve themselves or their character. But, have you ever thought about making a resolution that will benefit not only you, but the others around you, and the next generation?

If you wish to walk with me through this new experience, just view and pursue the six following steps...

First and foremost, if you do not recycle, aim to do so!

Also, Recycle your Christmas tree!

Strive to only turn on appliances and lights when {absolutely} necessary.

Replace your cleaning supplies with non-toxic alternatives. [I would recommend Meyers]

And if you don't already, .::this is a must!::. Reuse your grocery bags!

Last of all, but most important of all:

Enjoy your Environment!

Get out in the sun more, create a garden, get your rusty bike out of the shed, resolve to take brisk walks often.

These are quite simple yet, if accomplished, will help the earth around you in so many beneficial ways!

So, what are you waiting for?

Have yourself a VERY Happy New Year! :)
